Round three, enjoy:

Here in Toronto we have had our first big snow, a small taste of what is to come we're sure. Holidays are soon meaning there will be no classes, no finals, no assignments, and plenty of free time for leisurely art making.

It also means hot chocolate, fuzzy sweaters, your warmest boots, and celebrations!

Introduction.

What are two illustration students to do when they want to do illustrations outside of school, but can't think of what to do? Choose 3 random words and illustrate them of course!

We are Katia and Ann. Welcome to our blog! We are 2nd year illustration students at the Ontario College of Art University with two very different illustration styles.

Lifeboat Jamboree is our space to share our weekly (bi-weekly... sometimes tri-weekly) illustration challenges where we select 3 random words with a generator and use these as a basis to build a concept that we then illustrate separately. This exercise leads to fun results, the freedom to experiment, and it is always fun to compare how different our results are.

Why did we pick the name Lifeboat Jamboree? Well aside from the fact that it sounds awesome, we figured we'd stick with the theme of random words and use the same random word generator (found here) to pick out some words for us to name our blog with! And so, Lifeboat Jamboree was born!

We hope you can enjoy this blog as much as we enjoy creating art for it!
